Who is Shemetris?
Shemetris obtained an M.B.A. from Dallas Baptist University. She was licensed and ordained by Higher Ground Always Abounding Assembly. With a passion for serving people in all capacities, Shemetris joined the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church of Herndon, VA, in 2019 with a resume of women and youth impact of over 100k via churches, conferences, radio, and schools. Becoming the 1st female Children and Youth Pastor of a 150-plus-year-old church, ready to impact change. Over the past five years, as the Children and Youth Pastor, Shemetris has set a pace of significant change. Creating multiple curriculums, one created during the height of COVID-19, took on a whole new pace for change beyond Herndon, VA. This curriculum educates, encourages and teaches children and youth locally and nationally on Christian principles.
Over 100 youth locally have been taught through the "Pillar Curriculum" via online measures, and 55 have been tested and earned their pillar pins to move forward with the next level of teaching. Through this very same curriculum, she has been able to effect even more change in sharing the gospel with young people Internationally in Nigeria, the Philippines, and Thailand. Beyond preaching and teaching, she has implemented programs for youth and parents that include but are not limited to "Feet 2 Street," where youth connect with local youth to evangelize in their community and feed the hungry—creating a pure love to share Christ beyond the church. A Podcast called "Kingdom Chit Chat" where Christian teens shared their thoughts on current topics. One of her most significant accomplishments is the testimonies she has received from parents whose children and youth stand for Christ in their schools—choosing to lead prayer circles at schools and in their extracurricular activities. She is a Children and Youth Pastor and a community leader, creating summer programs and volunteer and work opportunities for other young people. She volunteers her time to local organizations in the community. Shemetris also sits on multiple boards and provides spiritual counsel to community leaders and organizations. During the Spring of 2022, Shemetris was allowed to return to some local schools and serve in person. Shemetris' background includes business contracts, community development, education, and leadership training.
Shemetris is the award recipient of the "100 Black Women Award in Religion". She is most known for her eye for problem solve and creating training to solve problems. Some of her most popular training is "The Six Elements of Change," "Why Not Wait," Power to Choose," and "Build a Bridge and Cross Over." Adding to her platform of accomplishments, Shemetris is a ghostwriter assisting people in telling their stories. She published her first book in 2017 "The ABCs of Waiting," Understanding the Concepts and Truths for Waiting. She will release her second book soon "7 Signs to know change is happening" and her first Children's Book of an 8 part series was released on June 2023 "Courageous and Strong." Shemetris has a no-limits mindset and always looks forward to what's next. She advocates for change and anything related to the development of women and young people. Shemetris always seeks ways to serve her community through service and the Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated Organization.

When I'm not at work, I love to kick back and enjoy my time with family and friends. Serving in my community is also a priority for me. Whether volunteering for a local organization or through my sorority of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., I enjoy reading, playing golf, writing, photography, and videography in my quiet time. I love quiet time the most. This is when I feel no strain or stress, and my mind can wander and think up new things. I love to create stories and ways to solve problems. I just released my first Childen Book.
